I make stationery. It’s relaxing.
I got started several years ago when I was going to be presenting at the Gulf Coast Book Festival, and even though Finis. was out, The Sharp Edges of Water was running behind schedule. I really wanted to represent my poetry at the festival and had a flash of inspiration to make greeting cards.
I know that doesn’t sound very interesting or inspired.
But have you ever gone to the grocery store to pick out a card and thought, there’s not really anything here that captures what I’m looking for, or thought all the designs were just so…ordinary?
That was often my experience. So I got out of the habit of giving cards, unfortunately. My friends and family probably didn’t appreciate that very much. They were still great about giving cards, but not me. It was kind of a bummer.
So I started making cards. I used my love of paper collage and fragments of my own poetry to create the designs. I took them to the book festival, and they were an enormous hit! I’ve been making them ever since and expanding the repertoire of my designs a little each year.
All cards are blank on the inside and come with matching envelopes. All designs available for $8 apiece. Please allow up to one week for me to get these in the mail to you, particularly for designs which are out of stock. All cards are handmade one at a time, so please allow for slight natural variations in the designs.
