National Poetry Month — Day 13

Sometimes there isn’t enough energy in a day to make a poem. Sometimes we are lucky just to notice a phrase that comes across our path, to recognize it for its lyricism in the midst of anything else but that.

A few weeks ago, I ran across one such phrase. I cannot remember where I read it, but it has stuck with me all this time. And today, which was probably the most productive workday I’ve had all month, all I can manage for a poem, even today, is to remember that one line. So let me share it with you:

“soft and awash like fog over snow”

I wish I could remember who wrote it, so I could give that person credit.
