National Poetry Month 2023: Day 1

Welcome to National Poetry Month! This is one of the most exciting times for Sappho’s Torque because I typically feature something about poetry — usually a poem — every day for the month of April. I’m going to try my best to keep up with it every day this month.

Today I ran across this lovely haiku by Elaine Sorrentino over on Haikuniverse — a delightful site you should all subscribe to, by the way. It captures the way my annual National Poetry Month series affects my blog rather perfectly. Poem-A-Day might be the most popular thing I do here.
