This is just plain one of the best rock songs I’ve ever heard. I fell in love with it when it came out in 1994; it’s the only track on that album I can even remember, and I’ve been listening to it in bliss for all these years. That guitar just doesn’t get old, and the drums live up to it. Enjoy.
That guitar is epic — I can just hear the motorcycle revving up at the beginning and then heading off on a long ride. Some of the lyrics have me scratching my head, though. I think I get the general gist, but that verse about hiding in the trees almost sounds like a guy waiting to assault a woman…especially considering his surprise that she doesn’t scream. Or is it all supposed to be Christ/Passion imagery?

Nice motorcycle metaphor. 😉 It really works!
As far as the lyrics go, I think it is primarily a Passion/Christ type of story TBH. It was interesting to look up the actual lyrics, some of which were a little different from how they sounded — until I read them.
The original beginning of this post read something like this: “Look, there are only a tiny handful of rock songs with religious imagery that I like, but this one is at the top of the list.” Like, even better than old U2. 😉
