I’ve been listening to the David Bowie station on Pandora a lot the last couple of weeks — I highly, highly recommend it — and as a result, I’ve been treated to a lot of The Cure, Depeche Mode, and New Order. New Wave is my wheelhouse, y’all, so that’s been awesome. Here’s one song that I hadn’t heard in a long time but have always enjoyed.
I don’t think there is ENOUGH use of corrugated metal in today’s music…

Ah, you’ve taken me back to 9th grade! This song played at my first ever concert, going to see Depeche Mode at the Erwin Center in Austin. Wish I still had that t-shirt I bought there, but I wore it to death.

Wheee! The first time I saw them was a bit later — sophomore year of college — for me. But I’ve seen them four times so far, the latest time just a couple of years ago. They are still just as amazing live now as they were then.
Interesting, too — when we saw them this last time, we were near the venue early enough in the day to hear them doing a sound-check, and we got to overhear David Gahan singing without any music behind him. The man can *sing*. His voice was actually gorgeous.

Nice! 🙂 It’s rapidly becoming one of my favorite stations, although I’m also a big fan of Duran Duran, Thievery Corporation, and Beats Antique.
