Fascinating! It feels a bit like Nirvana’s “Teen Spirit,” with its lyrics that sound profound even though they run (or crash) into each other in a way that’s kind of hard to understand. I got the gist, of course, from the imagery.
That. Is awesome. That’s almost like a Rick Roll — tricking some poor, unsuspecting person who thinks they’re listening to ordinary Christmas carols with sudden contemporary religious commentary.
Well, and these carols are traditional but not quite ordinary. They are full-on punk rock! And so much fun. Definitely one of my favorite holiday albums of all time.

The funny thing is, it’s on their Christmas album of unironically fabulous traditional Christmas carols.
