My husband and I were supposed to go to the opera tonight, to see Orfeo ed Euridice. However, family stuff came up, and we missed it. Alas.
In honor of that, here’s a fragment from my poem “In Earnest.”
How I tax my lover, as if
to tread the velvet path of desperate night
were not to dread temptation,
as if to lead me home were simple.
If you’d like to see this fragment on a handmade card which I have made, click here.
Never mind – watch this Baroque-set production in full-screen instead.
